Junior Ballet Cup – Primary Ballet

This is an award for the youngest members of our school. The award is given to the child who shows promising technique and most importantly enjoyment in class.

Lower Grades 1 & 2 Ballet Cup

This year’s Lower Grades Ballet Award is given to the student that has shown great enthusiasm within the class and shows a high level in understanding of the technique required.

Middle Grades 3 & 4 Ballet Cup

This year’s Middle Grades Ballet Award is given to the child that has shown maturity within the class and shows extraordinary promise in their technique.

Higher Grades 5 & 6 Ballet Cup

This award is given to the child that is showing promise and working hard at this level.

Senior Ballet Cup

This award is given to a student that is promising at Senior level in Classical Ballet

Hartley Junior Modern Award

The Ben Hartley Modern Award is named after one of Miss Simmons 1st students, who graduated from the school and is now dancing and choreographing on Broadway, Ben was formally in Adventure in Motion Pictures, English National Ballet and Fosse. As well as Fiddler on the Roof and Chitty, Chitty, Bang Bang.

The award is given to a child who has worked hard and shown great commitment.

Hartley Senior Modern Award

This year’s award has been given to students who have shown the most improvement in their style, technique and performance.

Kirwan Award for Junior Tap

This award was donated by Maureen Kirwan (Miss Tracey’s Mum), she wanted the award to be given to a child who shows great understanding, knowledge and enthusiasm within the class

Kirwan Award for Senior Tap

This year’s award is given to a student, who is dedicated and committed to the genre and has shown great improvement through-out this year.

Kirwan Award for Technical Achievement

This award is given to a student who has shown great progression in their Tap over the past 12 months, growing in both confidence and technical accuracy.  The student is a fantastic hard worker and has shown a great understanding of the tap technique.

Kath and Paul Bland Award

Kath and Paul Bland have been long-time supporters of the school and wish for this award to be given to those students that work well in a team, support one another, and show real dedication to the commercial style.

There will be 4 individual commendations awarded this year and 1 overall winning crew.

Gillian Hurst Award for Spanish

This award is given to a student who has shown tenacity, great effort and improvement.

Nicola Joy Junior Performance Award

This year the winner was chosen on performance & production skills and for their sheer enjoyment of class work during the year, this pupil is very hard working, always gives 100% and has a natural ability for entertaining their audience.

McDonald Smith Senior Performance Award

This award is given to the student showing maturity within their performance during the production weekend.

This award was donated by the Bridson family; Julie Bridson wanted to give an award for the most improved student in Ballet.

David Loftus Memorial Scholarship

 

This scholarship is given by Miss Simmons. David Loftus was a former pianist of the school– this is a full year’s scholarship for the tuition of Ballet Classes in the Junior Programme and is awarded on Performance, Merit and Enjoyment.

 

The Award this year is given to:  Jaya Neill

 

Sheila Fitz-Simon Award for Technical Merit in Classical Ballet

 

This award is given on behalf of Kate’s Mother for Technical Achievement in Classical Ballet. The student this award is going to has shown great promise in their classical dancing.

Kate Simmons Award – Best All-rounder

 

This award is given to the best all-rounder and versatile dancer. This student shows great technical skills in all dance genres, and is truly committed to their art.
