Junior School Dance Teacher

Location: Kate Simmons Dance, Warrington
Contract Type: Part-Time / Freelance

Role Summary:
Kate Simmons Dance is seeking a dedicated and passionate dance teacher to join our Junior School faculty. The ideal candidate will be confident in teaching Junior Ballet, Beginner Ballet, and either Junior Modern or Contemporary classes. This role requires an enthusiastic individual who is committed to nurturing young dancers’ technique, creativity, and enjoyment of movement in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality weekly dance classes in:

    • Junior Ballet

    • Beginner Ballet

    • Junior Modern and/or Contemporary (based on experience)

  • Support students’ progression through clear teaching frameworks aligned with the school’s curriculum and ethos.

  • Prepare students for internal showcases, annual performances, and examinations (where applicable).

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with the Lower School team and contribute to wider school events and productions.

Person Specification:

  • Recognised dance teaching qualification or relevant industry experience.

  • Strong technical background in ballet and modern/contemporary dance.

  • Experience teaching young children in a structured dance education setting.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • A nurturing and encouraging teaching style.

Desirable:

  • ISTD, RAD, or equivalent syllabus knowledge.

  • Experience preparing students for exams or stage performances.


Administrator

Location: KS Dance Reports To: Directors

Job Overview:KS Dance is seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to support our dance school operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth administrative processes, assisting in day-to-day operations, and providing excellent support to our Directors and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Assist the Directors with scheduling, correspondence, and document management. Maintain organised records and files, ensuring easy access to information.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, students, and staff. Handle inquiries and provide information regarding classes, schedules, and events.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in planning and organizing dance events, recitals, and competitions. Coordinate logistics, including venue arrangements, registrations, and communication with participants.
  • Financial Management: Support the financial aspects of the organization, including invoicing, tracking payments, and maintaining budgets. Assist in preparing financial reports as needed.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Help create promotional materials and manage social media accounts to increase awareness of KS Dance and its programs.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update student and staff databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in implementing and enforcing school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive environment for students and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational or arts environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for dance and the arts is a plus.

Junior Acro Teacher

Reports to: Deputy Head of Lower School

Role Summary:
Kate Simmons Dance is seeking an energetic and experienced Junior Acro Teacher to join our Lower School faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching safe and progressive acrobatic technique to younger students, developing their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination in a fun and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging weekly Junior Acro classes to children of varying ages and abilities.

  • Focus on developing foundational acro skills including rolls, balances, handstands, bridges, and flexibility exercises.

  • Maintain a strong emphasis on safe practice, body alignment, and injury prevention.

  • Track student progress and adapt lesson content to suit individual needs and group development.

  • Prepare students for performances, in-house assessments, and potential external acro opportunities.

  • Contribute to the planning and choreography of group acrobatic routines for showcases or competitions.

Person Specification:

  • Acrobatic Arts Certification or equivalent recognised qualification (or extensive relevant experience).

  • Demonstrated experience teaching acro to young children in a structured dance or gymnastics setting.

  • Strong knowledge of child development and progression pathways in acrobatics.

  • A fun, positive, and encouraging teaching approach.

  • Committed to health and safety and inclusive practice in all sessions.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary dance school.

  • Familiarity with integrating acro into dance choreography
