This year’s Summer School 2022’s timetable is filled with dance classes in Classical Ballet, Classical Repertoire, Pointe work, Boys Training in Virtuosity and Classical Rep. Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance, Hip Hop, Spanish Dance and Strength & Conditioning.

Lachlan Monaghan was born in Sydney, Australia and trained locally at The McDonald College and then at The Royal Ballet School.

Lachlan joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2012, was promoted to First Artist in 2016 and to Soloist in 2018.

His repertory involves a wide range styles including roles in Swan Lake (Prince Siegfried), Don Quixote (Basilio), Romeo & Juliet (Romeo), The Sleeping Beauty (Prince Florimund, Bluebird), La Fille mal Gardée (Colas), The Nutcracker (Prince), Cinderella (Prince), Hobson’s Choice (Will Mossop), Coppélia (Franz), Slaughter on Tenth Avenue (Hoofer), Elite Syncopations (Friday Night) and In The Upper Room (Stomper).

He has also created roles for various choreographers such as David Bintley, Jessica Lang, Didy Veldman, Jack Lister and George Williamson.

Lachlan is a passionate photographer, capturing backstage moments whenever he’s not performing as well as currently undertaking a BA (Honours) in Business Management.

Gina Scott, Soloist at the Semperoper Ballett in Dresden, Germany. Graduating from the Royal Ballet School in 2011 and starting my professional career as a Corps de Ballet. Dancing my first Principal role aged 20 in Nikiya – La Bayadera and to name a few more Aurora – Sleeping Beauty, Clara, Snow Queen – The Nutcracker, Terpsichore – Apollo, Russian, Spanish Princess and Big Swans – Swan Lake.

I have done works from David Dawson, Alexei Ratmansky, William Forsythe, George Balanchine, Jiri Kylian, Kenneth Macmillan, Frederick Ashton, Pina Bausch, Alexander Akman, Stijn Celis, Johan Inger, Justin peck and Aaron S. Watkin. I started dancing at the age of 3 in my hometown at the Wendy Sharpe and Sharon Potter School of Dance whilst attending The Royal Ballets Junior and Middle Associates. Aged 13, I joined Elmhurst School for Dance, selected for the Royal Academy Dance syllabus DVD. Joining the Royal Ballet School upper school and in my first I was a finalist in the Young British Dancer of the Year.

Whist with the Semperoper Ballet, I have been involved in the SemperOper Ball, Dance Open international festival in St Petersburg, toured to Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Canada, New York, Sweden and to the Paris Opera.

I am currently undergoing my Cecchetti diploma in dance education and education in balance body Pilates.

I look forward to meeting everyone attending the KSDance summer school this year 2022.
