Joe Bentley & Sam Jones Dance Principal Roles in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in Sendai, Japan

Kate Simmons, Principal of KS Dance, informed dance students Joe Bentley & Sam Jones that they had the fantastic opportunity of traveling to Sendai, Japan to perform principal roles of ‘The Prince’ and ‘Bluebird’ in Sleeping Beauty

After rehearsing in KS Dance studios, Warrington with Kate Simmons, Joe & Sam were flown out to Japan 5 days ahead of the opening nights performance for the remaining rehearsals with their Japanese dance partners, Akemi who was dancing the lead role of  Princess Aurora aformer student of KS Dance

The rehearsal process consisted of a gruelling 9 to 10 hour days of practice and preparation for the show-This certainly paid off.

The ballet performance of Sleeping Beauty raised money for the Sendai tsunami disaster a number of years ago, Joe commented “The trip to Japan broadened my insight on how well trained the dancers are and how disciplined the Japanese culture is. I see this opportunity as the start of my dance career and I hope to experience more international performances in the future”
