The Dancer’s Course is a multifaceted three year course. Today’s dancer has to be versatile and multi talented to meet the expectations of choreographers in a constantly changing theatrical environment. Training not only concentrates on strength of technique in the dance modules but works on performance skills, audition technique as well as maintaining a strong classical base which is essential for any dance discipline. Students are also individually coached in singing and Musical Theatre group work.
Dancer’s Course students receive support when going on to audition for work following the 3 year course. We invite agencies and employers to view open days and audition classes held at the school to directly
link our students with the industry. Students have attained employment in Musicals on the West End and Broadway as well as: television contracts, cruise ships and Cirque du Soleil.
The students on the Dancer’s Course are assessed monthly and termly which goes towards their end of term report which covers the students progression, strengths and any areas for improvement. All Dancer’s course students become part of The Allegrodance Touring Company which tours in the spring term. As students move through their training they progress within Allegrodance company from understudy to lead role.
